This role requires frequent presence on active construction sites, where the individual uses GPS, robotic total stations, and optical leveling equipment to perform precise layout and verification tasks for civil and structural elements. At the same time, the position involves significant collaboration with project superintendents, engineers, architects, and surveyors, often requiring the use of BIM platforms such as Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD Civil 3D to interpret and generate layout data.
The work environment is fast‑paced and detail-oriented, demanding strong problem‑solving skills, adaptability, and the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure. Regular travel between job sites is common, and the role requires balancing hands‑on fieldwork with technical drafting, data management, and communication responsibilities to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and within established quality and budget standards.
The Assistant Layout Superintendent role requires the ability to perform a range of physical activities in both outdoor construction environments and indoor office settings.
