The Aerospace Corporation is a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC) that supports national space programs and provides technical expertise across satellite, launch, ground, and cyber systems.
What You’ll Be Doing- Provide system acquisition, architecting, and engineering expertise in national security domains.
- Work with customers and contractor teams on enterprise requirements development, mission design, and test planning.
- Collaborate with diverse teams of military, government civilians, prime contractors, SE&I contractors, FFRDCs, and National Laboratories.
- Participate in systems architecture analyses, technology development planning, organizational effectiveness studies, and risk assessments across program life cycles.
- Ensure implementation of requirements for ground system design, mission concept of operations, prototype and test, flight checkout, flight operations, and operational transition support.
- Lead technical studies and analyses supporting programmatic and organizational decision-making.
- Integrate Aerospace Corporation capabilities through virtual teaming, backplane engagement, and matrix coordination.
- Develop innovative space, launch, ground, and operations capabilities and identify opportunities to adopt new technologies.
- Maintain positive working relationships with customer management and contractor staff.
- B.S. in a STEM‑related or technical field.
- 5 or more years of progressively responsible professional experience working across government programs.
- Space system technical background and program experience, including systems engineering across the mission lifecycle.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multi‑disciplinary teams and establish trusted relationships with government customers, SETA contractors, and key stakeholders.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for presenting and writing technical information.
- Willingness to travel domestically approximately once a month as required.
- Current and active TS/SCI and/or Q security clearance (or eligibility to obtain one) and U.S. citizenship.
- M.S. or advanced degree in a STEM field.
- Knowledge of Space Force acquisitions and experience interfacing with USAF/USSF/SAF leadership.
- Background in program office and management activities; experience directing matrixed technical support teams.
- Demonstrated success in organizing and leading cross‑functional, cross‑organizational studies and assessments.
- Exposure to multiple mission domains such as ground systems, launch, or on‑orbit systems.
- Working knowledge of aerospace corporate resources and laboratory operations.
