The Civil Systems Group (CSG) combines deep technical expertise with market‑leading innovation to help our customers solve complex systems engineering and integration challenges.
As a Senior Spectrum Management Specialist you will interface with USSF Space Systems Command and other program offices to develop spectrum management assessments, plans, processes, and filings. You will work collaboratively with USSF program officers, other civil agencies, university partners, commercial customers, and our aerospace engineering and program development staff.
You will provide professional engineering and scientific support within engineering, systems engineering, project engineering, or technology functions. Engage with customers and work with Program Office staff and the Engineering and Technology Group to support task execution. Provide independent analysis of systems architecture, policy, and regulatory support in spectrum management, development, and planning. Support customer programs in meeting analytic and regulatory requirements for spectrum use authorization.
Lead coordination with customers, commercial partners, and vendors to develop spectrum management certification applications, spectrum supportability risk assessments, international telecommunications union applications and radio frequency assignments. Lead cross‑functional aerospace teams to conduct radio frequency interference analyses, communication system analyses and system architecture designs to promote spectrum efficiencies needed to resolve potential or expected short‑term and long‑range spectrum usage contention issues.
Survey and identify technology and trends in spectrum usage. Identify and evaluate technological studies needed to open opportunities and maintain options for future communication and networking requirements. Develop processes for RFI resolution and planning use, for present and future planned spectrum utilization by the customer.
Serve as technical advisor on spectrum management matters by leading analyses, developing recommendations, and communicating findings to support customer decisions regarding frequency registration, protection, and spectrum utilization. Develop and deliver technical briefings, strategic assessments, and recommendations to customers and aerospace leadership to inform spectrum management and mission planning decisions.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in STEM areas or related discipline.
- 12+ years of experience in spectrum management.
- Proven capability to evaluate issues and solve problems from a systems perspective.
- Ability and motivation to work effectively and collaboratively with Government, aerospace and contractor personnel.
- Self‑sufficiency, initiative, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Willingness to travel approximately 15% of the time domestically or internationally.
- Current and active Top Secret/SCI clearance issued by the U.S. government.
- U.S. citizenship required to obtain a security clearance.
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in applicable STEM areas.
- 20 or more years of experience in spectrum management.
- Experience in U.S. military spectrum management.
- Prior Program Office and Engineering and Technology Group experience.
