Prestressed Concrete Inspector

Overview

Prestressed Concrete Inspector position in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area. This is a technical field and office role that requires performing QA services at concrete plants in the Albuquerque area. The candidate must have a valid PCI Level 2 or PCI Level 3 certification with experience in concrete and prestressed concrete inspections for highway and bridge construction. The ideal candidate will be available for immediate employment with a long-term assignment.

The candidate must be capable of rigorous physical activity, including being on their feet for extended periods.

• Inspection of concrete and prestressed concrete used for highway and bridge construction materials, including girders and panels.
• Monitoring for compliance with approved shop drawings, standards, and specifications.
• Communication and interaction with owners, fabricators, engineers, and other project personnel at fabrication facilities.
• Documenting and writing daily shop and field reports in digital format, taking photographs, and providing narrative for those photographs.
• Participating in WSP safety meetings.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current PCI Level 2 or PCI Level 3 Certification.
• Experience performing quality assurance/quality control.
• Dependability, honesty, and integrity.
• Computer skills:
  Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well independently and with other team members.
• Decision-making skills and initiative.
• Willingness to travel as needed, including overnight stays when out of town.
• Possession and maintenance of a valid driver license and a clean driving record.
• Sufficient physical stamina to work long hours indoors and outdoors under various field conditions and exposure to traffic, extreme heat, cold, rainfall, and snow.
• Climbing, bending, crawling, and working in confined spaces and on uneven terrain.
• Ability to lift 25+ lbs.
• Must pass a physical and background check and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
