Job Summary
Our client, a leader in the aerospace industry, is looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer. Key qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, with 10+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design, structural analysis, and/or thermal design/analysis for spacecraft systems. A relevant master's degree may be substituted for two years of experience.

- Advanced Structural Analysis:
Conducted comprehensive static, dynamic, thermal, and fatigue assessments to guarantee spacecraft component integrity and performance. - Mechanical Systems Leadership:
Led the end-to-end design and integration of mechanical subsystems, ensuring seamless compatibility with broader mission requirements. - Requirements & Validation:
Translated complex mission needs into engineering specs, validating designs through a rigorous combination of analysis and physical testing. - Material & Test Oversight:
Optimized material selection for weight and durability while managing critical environmental testing, including vibration, shock, and thermal cycles. - Documentation & Mentorship:
Authored high-level technical documentation (ICDs, reports) and provided strategic technical guidance to junior engineering staff.
