Job Description

Responsibilities- Managing tasks on large projects or phases of small projects.
- Under limited supervision, create basic to moderate complexity water and wastewater treatment facilities, water and sewer systems, pipelines, pump stations, remediation sites, solid waste facilities, etc. engineering designs to meet client project requirements.
- Review draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ensure that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
- Perform site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications and update design requirements as necessary.
- Perform water quality analyses and modeling.
- Contribute to firm's TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc.
- Submit technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
- Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Review draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local, and federal regulations and best practices.
- Meet with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs and attend conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Provide technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
- Mentor more junior staff and develop them for future growth within the discipline and firm.
- May supervise the work of junior engineers on project work.
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline. Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in states where an EIT is not obtainable within 18 months of hire, promotion, or transfer. 5 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Skills& Abilities
• Expert knowledge of computer‑assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
• Expert knowledge of engineering principles of design.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
