Computational Physicist (Early, Mid-Career, or Senior Level) I-Pulse Albuquerque LLC
We are seeking an innovative physicist to conduct hydrodynamic and 3D electromagnetic simulations for commercial pulsed-power applications. Candidates should have a background in physics, electrical engineering, applied physics, or mechanical engineering and will join a growing team working on diverse projects.

By opening an office in Albuquerque, we are advancing our commitment to commercializing pulsed power. We seek creative individuals who can rapidly transform concepts into hardware and integrate them into commercial applications.
- Collaborating with scientists, engineers, technicians, and program managers to scale pulsed-power systems for industrial applications.
- Using simulation tools, such as FLASH, LS-DYNA, ALE, COMSOL, CST, HFSS, for MHD, circuit, and multi-physics simulations.
- Modeling hydrodynamic, solid-matter interfaces, liquids, and pulsed-power system scaling.
- Managing computing systems and diverse operating systems (Linux, macOS, Windows) or small clusters.
- Presenting work at design reviews, managing schedules, and tracking project costs.
- Analyzing theoretical simulation results and experimental data.
- Documenting theoretical results.
- Preparing technical proposals.
- Bachelor’s degree (with experience) or Master’s in physics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- 2–10+ years of experience in advanced simulations.
- Experience in research, development, or prototyping environments.
- Experience writing proposals for competitive solicitations.
Qualifications:
- 20+ years of experience in simulations or related projects for government or industry.
- Expertise in theoretical physics, electrical engineering, or applied physics.
- Master’s or Ph.D. in physics, mathematics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
