We are working with a client who is seeking a licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join their growing surveying and engineering team in New Mexico. This position offers the opportunity to lead a variety of boundary, topographic, ALTA, construction, and infrastructure-related surveying projects while working closely with clients, engineers, developers, and public agencies.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, project management experience, and a desire to mentor survey staff while contributing to the continued growth of the surveying department.
Responsibilities- Manage surveying projects from proposal through final deliverables.
- Perform and oversee boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, easement, and subdivision surveys.
- Review plats, legal descriptions, records of survey, and boundary determinations.
- Sign and seal survey documents in accordance with New Mexico surveying regulations.
- Coordinate field crews and oversee data collection activities.
- Utilize GPS, robotic total stations, drone, and other surveying technologies.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
- Work closely with engineers, developers, municipalities, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare project scopes, schedules, budgets, and fee estimates.
- Mentor and develop survey technicians, crew chiefs, and survey staff.
- Support business development efforts and maintain client relationships.
- Current New Mexico Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or ability to obtain reciprocity.
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive land surveying experience.
- Strong understanding of boundary law, subdivision platting, and survey principles.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Carlson, or similar software.
- Knowledge of GPS, LiDAR, UAV/drone mapping, and modern survey technologies preferred.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

- ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys.
- Right-of-way and easement surveys.
- Construction staking and as-built surveys.
