We are seeking an R&D Laboratory Support Technologist to support our Calibration & Maintenance Team. This individual will perform calibration and maintenance of equipment and support various technical activities related to equipment lifecycle management and infrastructure in Center 7500.
- Execute calibrations and maintenance on a variety of equipment such as ovens, furnaces, temperature chambers, vacuum systems, welders, laser markers, part‑cleaning systems, and production testers.
- Troubleshoot and repair all types of production equipment including PLC control systems, computer hardware, and related sub‑components.
- Run a variety of equipment and collect, analyze data.
- Review, revise, and back up computer software including Windows OS, LabVIEW, and various PLC software applications.
- Interface extensively with our Center customers and provide them with strong technical support and frequent communication of status.

Qualifications We Require- Associate's degree in a technical field such as electronics, manufacturing technology, engineering technology, or a related technical field; or equivalent (No degree + 4 years of experience)
- Experience in equipment maintenance which includes troubleshooting and repair
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance
- Bachelor
¿ s degree in technical fields such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing technology, engineering technology, or other related technical fields - Experience in calibration of equipment to customer standards
- Ability to review, revise, and back up computer software including Windows OS and PLC software applications
- Experience in equipment installation and utility requirements
- Experience in facilities management and construction management
- Ability to team effectively with others including peers, customers, and service providers
- Ability to work independently, manage and prioritize work, and work effectively under stressful situations
- Ability to work safely by applying critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills to activity‑level work that may change and evolve as the work progresses
- Ability to model behaviors that reflect Sandia's core values
The Calibration & Maintenance Team is an approved calibration and maintenance provider for the Neutron Generator Enterprise (NGE). The team is responsible for the calibration and maintenance of equipment that supports the NGE mission of providing neutron sources for national security.

Security ClearanceApplicants must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q‑level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
MedPEDsIf you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs. If selected for an on‑site interview, additional steps may be required.
Position InformationThis Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for a one‑year term, which may be renewed at Sandia’s discretion up to a maximum of seven years.
