Principal Environmental Engineer / Geologist / Scientist (Groundwater & Remediation Focus)
A well-established environmental and water-focused consulting firm is seeking a Principal-level Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist to lead complex remediation and emerging contaminant projects across federal, state, and private sector clients.

This role is ideal for professionals with expertise in PFAS, chlorinated solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons, metals, and contaminant fate and transport, as well as strong experience evaluating and implementing remediation technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a technical authority on complex site investigation and remediation programs
- Lead development of conceptual site models, groundwater flow analyses, and contaminant transport evaluations
- Design and guide remediation strategies aligned with regulatory, risk, and client objectives
- Advise clients on evolving regulatory frameworks, risk considerations, and sustainable remediation approaches
- Direct large, multidisciplinary projects (e.g., Superfund, state-led programs, industrial sites)
- Provide senior technical oversight, quality assurance, and mentorship across project teams
- Support and lead proposal efforts and strategic pursuits
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying new opportunities
- ~20+ years of experience in environmental consulting
- Strong background in groundwater investigation and remediation
- Experience with contaminants such as chlorinated solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons, and emerging contaminants (e.g., PFAS, 1,4-dioxane)
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, hydrogeology, or a related discipline
- Proven track record of technical leadership, project delivery, and client engagement
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to a variety of stakeholders
- Professional licensure (PE or PG)
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD)
- Experience with groundwater modeling and contaminant fate and transport tools
- Strong understanding of state and federal regulatory programs (CERCLA, RCRA, etc.)
- Demonstrated success in business development and client growth
- Leadership experience mentoring and developing technical teams
