CAD Designer with Security Clearance

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a CAD Designer to support an innovative international engineering and consulting firm that serves public and private-sector clients with complex environmental, infrastructure, and national security-related initiatives. This position is on-site in Albuquerque, NM. The CAD Designer will support the design and development of next-generation pulsed power systems, accelerators, and high-energy physics technologies by creating detailed engineering models and drawings in a collaborative research environment.

* Create 3D models and detailed mechanical drawings for pulsed power systems, accelerators, and related equipment.

* Collaborate with engineers and scientists to develop, interpret, and refine design concepts and technical requirements.

* Support manufacturing, procurement, and supplier engagements to ensure designs are producible and meet project objectives.

* Manage engineering documentation, configuration control, and product lifecycle data using PDM tools.

* Apply GD&T standards and mechanical design best practices to support complex engineering projects.

Required Qualifications for the CAD Designer include:
* 3+ years of experience in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) or a combination of relevant education and experience.

* Proficiency with PTC Creo, Windchill/PDMLink, 3D solid modeling, and mechanical drawing development.

* Experience applying Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and mechanical design principles.

* High School Diploma required;
Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with Model-Based Design (MBD) practices.

* Knowledge of engineering design, manufacturing, configuration management, and analysis processes.

* Previous experience supporting DOE sites, laboratories, or government programs.

* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment.

* Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for long-term career growth.
Compensation for the CAD Designer include:
* Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 depending on experience
