Supervisory Civil Engineer

Duties

Implement project plans for engineering program.

Provide recommendations for organizational and operational engineering objectives.

Analyze effectiveness of engineering projects within a forest or natural resource management area.

Prepare and/or review correspondence, reports, estimates, fact sheets, status reports, and schedules as required to complete projects.

Provide workforce staffing oversight on specific project work to ensure sufficient technical expertise and capacity available to accomplish work.

Prepare detailed cost estimates for use in obtaining project funding or bid evaluation.

Manage administrative facilities, recreation facilities, roads, and transportation programs with internal and external partners.

Develop solutions to engineering problems by applying or modifying existing techniques.

Plan the work to be accomplished by assigning work to employees and establishing production or quality standards for the unit's work.

Establish and communicate guidelines and performance requirements to employees including conducting formal performance reviews and identifying developmental and training needs of employees.

Performs supervisory duties 25% or more of the time.
