We are seeking a Staff Scientist / Physicist to contribute to the design, modeling, and development of next-generation accelerator systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys applying fundamental physics to real-world systems and is excited to work in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

We strongly encourage candidates from a broad range of physics backgrounds to apply-including, but not limited to, accelerator physics, plasma physics, nuclear physics, condensed matter, computational physics, and related fields.

What You'll Do:

Contribute to the design, simulation, and analysis of accelerator systems and subsystems.

Apply physics-based modeling to inform system architecture, component design, and performance optimization.

Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams on development, integration, and testing of accelerator components.

Support experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation of test results.

Help identify technical challenges and contribute to creative, practical solutions.

Participate in system-level thinking-bringing theory, modeling, and real-world implementation.

Document findings and communicate results clearly across technical teams.

Requirements
  • PhD or MS (or equivalent experience) in Physics or a closely related field.
  • Strong foundation in core physics principles, with the ability to apply them to complex systems.
  • Experience with modeling, simulation, or experimental work in a relevant domain.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams with scientists and engineers.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn new domains and technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to pass a thorough background check.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with accelerator physics, beam dynamics, RF systems, or high-power systems.
  • Background in computational modeling (e.g., particle simulations, multi physics tools).
  • Familiarity with experimental physics environments and instrumentation.
  • Experience working in applied or industry-focused research settings.
  • Exposure to startup or fast-paced R&D environments.
