Architect Position at Kirtland Air Force Base

ASRC Federal Net Centric Technology, LLC is seeking an Architect to join our team for the Kirtland Engineering and Operations Support (KEOS) contract at Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. KEOS is a base maintenance contract (BMC), also known as a base operations support (BOS) contract.

Job Summary:

The Architect supports the sustainment of mission critical facilities and infrastructure at Kirtland AFB (KAFB) to ensure our customers' continued mission success. This position prepares design documentation to include, but not limited to:
Statements of Work, specifications, drawings, sketches, calculations and building code references. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties as Subject Matter Expert (SME) throughout the lifecycle of projects from conducting an existing conditions investigation to performing a conceptual design followed by various touchpoints upon construction start through to completion.
  • Evaluate and provide recommendation for or against approval of submittals, provide technical approach assessments, and develop modification packages as necessary.
  • Review plans and detail drawings for construction of new and maintenance, removal or rearrangement of existing layouts and finishes.
  • Actively participate in technical design reviews and requirements validation; support a range of design development, analysis or review tasks.
  • Formulate and recommend new or corrective action measures such as schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, fund allocations, and work requirements.
  • Prepare and present presentations/briefings to KAFB government counterparts and clients.
  • Research, plan, design, and administer building projects applying knowledge of design, construction procedures, building codes, and building materials.
  • Consult with customers to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation.
  • Review design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs and construction time data.
  • Plans layout of project and integrates engineering elements into unified design.
  • Conduct observations of work during construction to monitor compliance with specifications.
  • Coordinate with building contractors and ensure building safety and adherence to applicable building codes.
  • Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture from a National Architecture Accrediting Board (NAAB) accredited program and a minimum of eight (5) years of experience in a related or applicable field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Currently be a Registered Architect in one of the US states or territories or be able to obtain licensure within one year of hire date.
  • Commitment and capacity to work in a collaborative environment in support of Air Force mission in compliance with established DoD criteria.
  • Be proficient in use of engineering and design software and common applications, specifically Adobe Acrobat Pro and the Microsoft Office 365 Suite
  • Possess and employ excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Be able to take initiative and work independently without direct supervision.
  • Be willing and able to work with customers and coworkers in a courteous, professional, and effective manner.
  • Must have proficient English oral and written communication skills sufficient to effectively communicate with employees, management, and customers.
  • Must be a US citizen and currently possess or be able to obtain/maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen.
  • Have ability to perform repetitive physical tasks involving lifting at least 25 lbs.
  • Be committed to providing for and maintaining a safe working environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least ten (10) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working in Department of Defense or other government environment.
