Position Overview

Valor 3 Services is seeking an experienced Senior Program Engineer – Systems Integration & Risk Management to support a high-visibility Department of Energy national security modernization program. This position provides direct engineering and programmatic support to Federal leadership responsible for overseeing complex technical initiatives involving multiple government organizations, national laboratories, production sites, and industry partners.

The selected candidate will assist senior government engineers and program managers in coordinating technical activities, integrating engineering efforts, monitoring program execution, and supporting strategic decision-making across a geographically dispersed enterprise. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where technical excellence, communication, and sound engineering judgment are essential.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Program Engineer – Systems Integration & Risk Management, you will:

  • Provide engineering and technical advisory support to Federal Program Managers and senior government leadership.
  • Coordinate engineering activities across multiple organizations to ensure successful execution of program objectives.
  • Support systems engineering efforts including requirements management, interface coordination, technical integration, and risk management.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of integrated program schedules, milestones, and technical baselines.
  • Evaluate technical issues and recommend practical solutions that support cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings and other technical working groups.
  • Prepare technical briefings, reports, presentations, and executive-level documentation.
  • Track technical risks, action items, and program decisions while supporting mitigation planning.
  • Analyze program data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Support strategic planning activities involving production capability, resource planning, and program execution.
  • Collaborate with Federal personnel, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and program integration.
  • Perform additional technical and program support activities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Degrees in Program Management, Project Management, Business, or similar disciplines may be considered with significant directly related experience.
  • Active DOE Q Clearance or DOE Top Secret Clearance.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering, systems engineering, or technical program management experience.
  • Experience supporting large, technically complex government or national security programs.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, technical integration, and engineering lifecycle management.
  • Experience with project scheduling, risk management, and program management tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical information and communicate recommendations clearly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Department of Energy or National Nuclear Security Administration programs.
  • Large-scale Federal acquisition or modernization programs.
  • Systems engineering and product realization processes.
  • Manufacturing, production, or engineering operations within government or highly regulated industries.
  • Technical program integration across multiple organizations.
  • Executive briefing development and presentation support.
  • Program scheduling, portfolio analysis, and technical risk management.
  • Cross-functional engineering leadership and collaboration.
