Position Summary

The Slot Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, repair and maintenance of gaming machines. Assists Slot Attendants who encounter complex problems and malfunctions while working on the floor. Identifies and shuts down and removes from service any machine that malfunctions and cannot be quickly repaired or that requires replacement parts that are not readily available. Works on and repairs machines removed from the floor in the repair area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain, repair, install, and ensure the general operational condition of slot machines, electronic boards, and bill acceptors on the casino floor.
  • Perform assigned slot department activities in accordance with the policies and procedures prescribed in the Sandia Casino System of Internal Controls.
  • Act as host, answer customer concerns and questions, investigate and resolve customer complaints.
  • Troubleshoot slot machines and the operating accounting system.
  • Perform RAM clears and option slot machines.
  • Install, remove, convert, and swap slot machines as needed.
  • Maintain good working relationships through all channels of supervisors and employees.
  • Adhere to Title 31 procedures.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of slot machines and spare parts.
  • Ensure punctual and regular attendance; report to work according to the assigned schedule in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo Sandia.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform related additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
  • Support a single function and provide guidance to lower-level team members as needed; does not supervise people.
  • Function as an advisor to management due to the complexity of this level of work performed.
  • Maintain current licenses, certifications, specialized education, and technical expertise as required while demonstrating advanced knowledge in all aspects of the specialized function.
  • Perform work as a highly skilled individual contributor; considered a subject matter expert within the peer set, particularly for problem‑solving.
  • Apply critical thinking, analyze issues, identify solutions, and implement them effectively.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in building cohesive working relationships with co‑workers and internal/external contacts.
Key Performance Indicators

This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) identified as a measurement of success. KPIs will be shared with all team members who work in this job title, and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPIs as part of the performance review process.

  • Ability to check the latest games and bills across several manufacturers of slot machines.

  • Ability to work with mechanical equipment.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma, GED certification, or equivalent.
  • One (1) year Slot Technician experience or a combination of education and electronics repair totaling two (2) years.
Must be at least 21 years of age.Licenses / Certifications / Registrations
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required STGC Gaming License.
  • Will require a pre‑employment and random drug screening.
