Financial Analyst, Business Administration
Perform responsible administrative and analytical duties in support of assigned division or department; participate in special project studies; and provide financial information and analysis. Management Analyst I - This is the entry level class in the Management Analyst series. This class is distinguished from the Management Analyst II by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within the series, including assuming responsibility for less complex projects.
Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have only limited or no directly related work experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. The following essential functions may include, but are not limited to the functions listed below.
- Participate in budget analysis and preparation including revenue and expenditure forecasts and cost allocation factor analysis; review, analyze and document.
- Prepare comprehensive technical records and analytical reports pertaining to assigned area of responsibility; conduct research and data collection efforts to support analysis; provide statistical information.
- Advise and assist the assigned department in steps to facilitate changes in management philosophies.
- Conduct performance data analysis for assigned department operations; review and provide documenting information.
- Maintain and monitor information and documentation necessary for the obtainment of grants and other monetary funding of department programs.
- Assist in the preparation and administration of assigned budget(s); maintain and monitor appropriate budgeting controls; monitor cash and expenditures; make budgetary projections; prepare various financial reports as required.
- Collect, compile and analyze information from various sources related to assigned programs; prepare reports which present and interpret data; suggest and support recommendations.
- Perform special project studies including management and organizational studies designed to determine systems cost and operations.
- Serve on a variety of committees as assigned; prepare and present staff reports to various councils, boards and commissions.
- Attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new developments and changing legislation affecting assigned area.
- Plan, coordinate, and participate in a variety of special projects as assigned.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public administration or business administration;
and
Two (2) years of financial analysis experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:- Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
- Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
Office environment; exposure to computer screens.
Physical:Essential and supplemental functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting for prolonged periods.
