Summary

The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for a variety of daily and monthly financial accounting duties at the Albuquerque Convention Center (ACC) facilities, including preparation of journal entries, related close documents, account reconciliations and analysis, financial record maintenance, monthly financial reporting, audit preparations, payroll oversight, and other general accounting functions.

Responsibilities
  • Assists in the development and implementation of facility goals and priorities related to financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and payroll in compliance with state and federal law and Legends Global policies.
  • Supervises payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting functions and personnel.
  • Prepares and performs or assists with event settlements.
  • Performs bank reconciliations.
  • Assists with financial reporting, including financial statements for the client and Legends Corporate, monthly statements, annual budgets, and annual reports.
  • Directs installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures.
  • Maintains general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, operating expenses, and insurance records.
  • Verifies and checks the accuracy of general ledger coding.
  • Directs and participates in cost analyses and rate studies.
  • Prepares and analyzes information for financial statements and reports.
  • Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues.
  • Directs internal audits reviewing accounting and administrative controls.
  • Coordinates external audit materials and reporting.
  • Works with auditors in verifying financial information and procedures.
  • Establishes system controls for new financial systems and improves existing procedures.
  • Creates and maintains prepaid amortization and accrued expense schedules.
  • Directs installation and maintenance of new accounting, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, property, and related controls.
  • Prepares for annual audits by compiling audit schedules and supporting auditors.
  • Maintains fixed asset activity, recording capitalized assets and maintaining fixed asset schedules.
  • Completes payroll processing for the facility.
  • Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM policies and applicable laws.
  • Conducts interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisal, rewarding, disciplining, and resolving employee issues in conjunction with HR.
  • Reviews financial statements with management personnel.
  • Collaborates with other venues to produce required financial information.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting software, spreadsheets, and word processing software, with ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting.
  • Excellent math skills; high aptitude for figures.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information.
  • Effective supervisory skills.
  • Ability to multitask on daily duties and ad‑hoc assignments.
  • Independent work ability, completing duties with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient knowledge of accounting software systems.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and payroll systems.
  • Ability to work harmoniously in a team setting, exhibiting excellent customer service.
  • Personal and professional initiative, enthusiasm, and dedication to excellence in wide‑ranging services.
  • Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four‑year college or university (Preferred).
  • 5–7 years of experience in public accounting and/or financial management at a supervisory level.
