Member Solutions Advisor
In this position, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts to meet established standards for collection performance. You will preserve the Credit Union's assets by controlling delinquent loan accounts, collecting delinquent loan payments and overdrawn accounts, and/or recovering collateral. You will maintain accurate files and reports on all activities and coordinate monitoring of possible kiting situations. You will close abusive checking accounts and remove overdraft privileges.
You will work with branch personnel for the recovery of overdrawn share accounts. You will maintain repossession records, including condition reports, pictures, expenses, and reports to management.
- Contact delinquent accounts by phone and mail; advise Card Services of cards to close as a result of delinquency.
- Actively seek and locate members and collateral via skip tracing.
- Recover funds on written‑off loans through collections tools or outside collection agencies.
- Coordinate with management to pursue repossession or foreclosure of collateral; safeguard collateral and recommend best sale price.
- File insurance claims on collateral, post sales, insurance proceeds and coordinate the redemption of collateral; notify all interested parties of the sale and disposition.
- Maintain accurate files and reports on all activity and monitor possible kiting situations.
- Work with branch personnel to recover overdrawn share accounts; if assigned by the collections manager, maintain loans by posting payments received via credit cards, debit card advances, payment transfers, and Speed Pay.
- One to two years of similar or related experience.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Confidentiality and a high degree of loyalty to the job, company, and members’ financial affairs.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and resolve problems while handling sensitive information.
- Effective communication with internal and external customers via in‑person, email, and other channels.
- Experience in multitasking, meeting strict deadlines, dealing with sensitive information, and problem resolution while providing exceptional service.
- Ability to adapt quickly to change and proactively communicate.
