Lead Financial Strategy for a Critical Access Hospital as CFO in Grants, NM – Drive Growth, Compliance & Community Impact
Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 per year
Location: Grants, NM
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare accounting and will play a critical role in strategic decision making and operations as we continue to enhance our quality of care and meet our financial goals. This is a permanent position.
Responsibilities- Oversee all financial operations of the company including its subsidiaries and foreign operations.
- Coordinate, analyze, and report financial performance to Management and the Board of Directors.
- Prepare short‑ and long‑term financial forecasts for internal management and external parties.
- Oversee audit and tax functions, coordinate activities with outside audit firms, and review firm performance.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures for financial accounting, reporting, employee relations, and other corporate policies.
- Maintain proficiency in corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules, and Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance.
- Manage all corporate and human resource activities including employee benefits, retirement plans, corporate insurance and related activities across all company locations.
- Motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight time frames and simultaneously manage multiple projects.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. CPA, CMA, or other related certification is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, preferably in the healthcare industry.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office applications; familiarity with accounting software and healthcare‑related financial regulations.
- Strong problem‑solving and strategic planning skills; ability to forecast, analyze, interpret financial data, and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to guide and motivate a financial team and work effectively with executives, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
- Proven negotiation skills with experience managing relationships with banks and other financial institutions.
