Position Summary:
The Internal Audit Department is looking for motivated individuals to support Internal Auditors in conducting operational, compliance, financial, and investigative audits. Join our team and gain valuable hands-on experience while completing your degree!
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with audit and investigative procedures in accordance with professional standards.
- Generate reports and extract data from UNM systems for Internal Audit purposes.
- Support the evaluation of audit and investigation findings.
- Contribute to drafting audit reports and related deliverables.
Our department conducts a wide range of audits and investigations, offering an excellent opportunity to gain practical, on-the-job experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program at UNM.
- Enrolled in at least 6 undergraduate credit hours or 5 graduate credit hours in a degree-seeking program.
- Enrolled at least half-time (minimum of 6 credit hours) during the fall and spring semesters (audit hours do not count).
- Junior-, senior-, or graduate-level student majoring in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Requirements:
- Must sign a confidentiality agreement.
- Must attend required training.
- Must be able to commit up to 20 hours per week for two semesters.
