As a Business Banking Officer, you will actively pursue business relationships for NBH Bank. You will provide a full range of business banking services with an emphasis on loan and deposit products, aiming for 100% of the client's relationship. Your responsibilities include developing and expanding business relationships, obtaining business loans, deposits, treasury services, and identifying consumer and mortgage opportunities for business clients and their associates.
You will provide financial advice on credit structure and treasury management, counsel clients throughout the onboarding process, critically review, analyze, and structure business loans, monitor portfolio performance, and resolve borrower issues when appropriate. Your role also involves proactive outreach to clients and prospects, community engagement to promote the bank’s image, building rapport with clients and colleagues, and maintaining compliance with regulations such as BSA and OFAC.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum 3 years of banking experience.
- Minimum 3 years of successful business‑to‑business development experience.
- Minimum 5 years of successful commercial or small business lending.
- Minimum 5 years of banking experience.
- Completion of a bank training or formal credit training program.
- Strong credit background with ability to analyze financial statements, underwrite loans, and prepare loan presentations for approval by credit committees.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to articulate issues clearly and concisely.
- Creative problem‑solving with resourcefulness.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build team cohesiveness.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Effective prioritization of competing demands and management of multiple tasks or projects.
- Sound decision making with consistent delivery on commitments and responsibility for results.
- Strong client service skills for internal and external interactions.
- Professional representation of the bank at all times.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Office setting with traditional hours.
- Work at a rapid pace for long periods of time (typically no longer than 8 hours).
- Require physical exertion such as lifting, bending, twisting, and repetitive use of arms or hands.
- Travel estimated at 50% to 60% of the time.
