Job DescriptionDuties Supports Division Chief, Plans, Organizes, inspections and daily operations ensuring that all activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Performs Team Lead, Trip Coordinator or Inspector duties as assigned on Inspections. Represents the Inspector General Office and programs with a variety of HHQ, wing/center and functional area organizations. Applies the principles of inspection management for Personnel Reliability Assurance Program and the Air Force Inspection System to ensure compliance with Air Force and DoW standards.

- Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
- Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- May be required to work in a variety of facilities and outside locations under various weather conditions.
- Base level, MAJCOM, FLDCOM, or AF level inspector experience highly desired.
- Experience in Personnel Reliability Assurance Program management is highly desired.
- Continuous Process Improvement experience highly desired.
- The position has been designated by the Air Force as a testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. cond't

Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, General Inspection Investigation Enforcement and Compliance Series 1801 SPECIALIZED
EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes comprehensive working knowledge of title 10 requirements that the AF Inspector General must fulfill to meet U.S. laws. Knowledge with collecting and analyzing operational and strategic intelligence from wide-ranging sources including Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies, military departments, foreign governments, financial institutions, and technology companies.
Knowledge of the inspection of organizational programs, mission and functions regarding programmed inspections, schedules, and readiness activities that are multi-installation investigations where methods are subject to changing legal admissibility. Knowledge of the structure and hierarchy of the organization, Department of War, Air Force Secretariat, Air Staff Offices (two-letter offices) and Major/Field Commands to facilitate interactions with The Inspector General and senior officers in those organizations and required correspondence and staff work for the HAF, SAF/IG, MAJCOM, FLDCOM and DoW.
