Position Summary
The Aviation ADA Compliance Coordinator supports the Aviation Department in maintaining operational compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as City programs and services. Coordinate and assist with activities related to facility adherence to codes and regulations related to Americans with Disability Act (ADA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements, and other regulatory agencies related to Aviation operations.
Monitor and assist in ensuring the department meets requirements set by the relevant federal agencies for the airports.

Essential And Supplemental FunctionsSSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Monitor and ensure compliance related to accommodations, accessibility design and standards; federal agency requirements relevant to Albuquerque Sunport and Double Eagle II airports.
- Evaluate and identify potential deficiencies in facility design related to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and accessibility design; provide recommendations for compliance.
- Coordinate, maintain and support the implementation of the Aviation Department's Title VI Plan, Limited English Proficiency Plan, and Community Participation Plan.
- Coordinate data collection through customer satisfaction surveys and complaints to assess impacts on racial or ethnic groups and ensures data is readily available for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Civil Rights compliance, Title IV monitoring, and related federal reporting requirements.
- Conduct regular reviews and inspections of the Aviation Department's facilities, programs, and policies to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
- Assist in reviewing the Aviation Department’s plans and disseminate information to staff; explain assigned programs; policies and activities; may negotiate and resolve sensitive and controversial issues.
- Participate in developing policies for compliance with federal, state, and local laws related to civil rights, disabilities, and community engagement.
- Prepare and present staff reports, recommendations, and other correspondence as appropriate and necessary.
- Plan and coordinate project work, timelines, roles, and responsibilities; ensure compliance with FAA regulations, ADA requirements, federal civil rights obligation, and other applicable regulatory requirements; ensure adherence to operational policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with community leaders, organizations businesses, and staff; coordinate projects and activities with various departments and outside agencies
- Coordinate community outreach and stakeholder engagement initiatives by facilitating translation and interpretation services an supporting accessibility, language access, and ADA-related programs in collaboration with internal divisions and community partners.
- Support departmental compliance with applicable FAA Grant Assurances and federal non-discrimination requirements, including ADA, Title IV of the Civil Rights Act, accessibility, and public-use obligations; collaborate with the Contracts Division to assist with Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) programs reporting, outreach, monitoring and compliance activities.
- Provide and respond to requests for data and records; compliance and adherence to federal regulatory agencies and other relevant agencies.
- Represent assigned program to other divisions, departments, elected officials and outside agencies; coordinate assigned activities with those of other divisions, departments and outside agencies and organizations; to include the City Office of Civil Rights and the Office of Diversity and Equity.
