Position Summary
The University of New Mexico’s College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administrative Sciences is currently recruiting for an undergraduate student to work in the laboratory of Dr. Amer El Ghali. The student will be working in a lab specializing in microbiology and infectious diseases.
Under direct supervision, the Lab Tech will be responsible for taking care of the laboratory including cleaning, equipment supervision, preparing media and supplies, and setting up lab experiments for specified research projects. Further duties may include fabrication of research/testing components, preparing specimens, media, and equipment, and making drug formulations, as appropriate to the specific position. May work with and assist other students in lab activities, and may perform miscellaneous administrative duties.

Typical work hours will be Monday‑Friday, between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Work schedules are flexible and will be worked out with the supervisor before beginning employment. The selected candidate may work up to 20 hours per week
