Summary

Performs clinical service, including clinical supervision for all clinical staff within the Behavioral Health Program. Applies the counseling processes and therapeutic use of self to provide quality patient care and education clinical supervision to staff. Clinical supervision is defined as regular, ongoing supervision of counseling provided by another trained and experienced professional.

Job Description

Presbyterian Medical Group seeks a licensed Clinical Psychologist PRN to join our established practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This position is dedicated primarily to testing and comes with a flexible schedule. The role is part of a comprehensive Behavioral Health program providing treatment for recovery from substance abuse, behavioral health conditions, and psychiatric emergencies, supporting adults, children and adolescents across inpatient, outpatient, intensive outpatient, emergency, consultative, and primary care embedded services.

Responsibilities
  • Provides clinical supervision to staff including therapists, nurses, and behavioral technicians, ensuring appropriate counseling practice and contextual understanding.
  • Performs counseling and case management for each patient assigned, including assessment, diagnosis, planning care, intervention (counseling patients/significant others, psychotherapy, educational groups), and evaluation.
  • Demonstrates therapeutic core conditions such as empathy, warmth, mutual respect, trust and positive regard in interactions with patients, significant others, and staff.
  • Performs professional clinical duties as the psychologist on staff for patients as needed, collaborates with nursing and ancillary staff, participates in multidisciplinary treatment planning, and documents thoroughly in medical record.
  • Participates actively in initiatives to improve clinical and service quality directed by program administration.
  • Serves in a leadership role regarding patient care and appropriate therapeutic intervention.
Qualifications

PhD or PsyD, NM Psychology License.
