Location: Albuquerque, NM

Start Date: 01-26-2026

End Date: 04-25-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (day)

Hours per Week: 35

Candidate Pay Rate: $42 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled occupational therapy services as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to support patient recovery
  • Implement individualized treatment plans focused on restoring daily living skills and independence
  • Collaborate with occupational therapists, nurses, and the rehab team to coordinate high-quality care
  • Document patient evaluations, progress, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner
  • Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic strategies, home programs, and adaptive equipment
  • Maintain a safe, organized therapeutic environment and follow facility protocols
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discharge planning to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
  • Active state licensure or ability to obtain COTA licensure in New Mexico prior to start
  • Experience in rehabilitation or outpatient settings is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team approach
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
Knowledge & Skills
  • Solid understanding of occupational therapy principles and rehabilitation techniques
  • Skilled in ADL training, adaptive equipment recommendations, and functional activity-based interventions
  • Good clinical documentation and clinical reasoning skills
  • Ability to educate patients and caregivers in an empathetic, clear manner
  • Comfortable working within a multidisciplinary team and contributing to care planning
