Join a highly specialized pediatric cardiovascular imaging team dedicated to caring for children and families affected by congenital and structural heart disease. In this role, you will perform comprehensive diagnostic echo cardiographic examinations using advanced ultrasound technology to capture high-quality images of cardiac structures and function in pediatric and fetal patients. - Perform advanced pediatric and fetal echo cardiographic examinations, utilizing 2D, 3D, and Doppler imaging to obtain high-quality diagnostic studies for congenital and structural heart disease patients.
- Analyze imaging findings in real time, recognize abnormalities, document results, prepare preliminary reports, and communicate critical findings to physicians.
- Collaborate closely with pediatric cardiologists and multidisciplinary care teams to support accurate diagnosis and exceptional patient outcomes.
- Provide compassionate, family-centered care by educating patients and families, ensuring comfort, and delivering an outstanding patient experience.
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to sonographers, supporting skill development, knowledge sharing, and best practices in pediatric echocardiography.
- Support department quality initiatives, accreditation requirements, equipment management, and continuous process improvement efforts.
- Rotate through inpatient, outpatient, and outreach settings, including participation in call coverage and outreach clinics as assigned.
- Maintain clinical competencies and continuing education while adhering to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of a two-year Allied Health Training Program, Ultrasound Technology program, or a Bachelor's degree program in a health science field, including but not limited to cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) program preferred.
Experience
- One (1) to four (4) years of inpatient and/or outpatient cardiac ultrasound experience required.
Licensure & Certifications
- Current ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential in Adult Echocardiography (AE) or Pediatric Echocardiography (PE), or CCI Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) credential required.
- Registry-eligible candidates must successfully obtain the ARDMS PE or CCI RCCS credential within eighteen (18) months of hire.
- Current New Mexico state licensure through the New Mexico Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Program (NMRTT) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (
