SummaryBalanced Physical Therapy + Wellness is looking for a passionate and experienced Physical Therapist (PT) with specialization in Lymphedema management to join our rehabilitation team. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in treating patients with lymphedema and related conditions and a passion for helping patients improve mobility, function, independence, and quality of life.

andidate who has experience with Wheelchair
Evaluations or who has a strong interest in developing expertise in this area. This position is responsible for assessing patients’ functional mobility, posture, positioning, and equipment needed to promote safety, independence, comfort, and quality of life. This is an excellent opportunity for a therapist to combine specialized lymphedema care with functional mobility and assistive technology services.

About the RoleLymphedema:
Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for patients with lymphedema, chronic edema, and related conditions.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on each patient's medical condition, functional goals, and lifestyle.
Provide appropriate lymphedema treatment interventions, including manual lymphatic drainage, compression therapy, therapeutic exercise, skin care education, and patient self-management strategies.
Educate patients and caregivers regarding compression garments, skin integrity, home management, exercise, positioning, and prevention of complications.
Monitor patient response to treatment and modify plans of care as clinically indicated.
Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, other rehabilitation professionals, and referring providers.
Provide appropriate documentation supporting treatment plans, progress, and medical necessity.
Assist patients in achieving greater independence with long‑term lymphedema management.
Wheelchair Evaluations:
Conduct comprehensive wheelchair and seating evaluations for individuals with complex mobility and positioning needs.
Assess posture, pressure management, skin integrity, range of motion, strength, tone, balance, functional mobility, and ability to perform activities of daily living.
Determine appropriate wheelchair type, seating system, cushions, positioning components, and other durable medical equipment based on the patient’s functional and medical needs.
Complete detailed clinical documentation and supporting medical justification for recommended equipment.
Make recommendations for manual and power mobility systems, including appropriate seating, positioning, and mobility accessories.
Evaluate existing equipment and identify modifications, repairs, or replacement needs.
Educate patients and caregivers regarding safe wheelchair use, positioning, pressure relief, maintenance, and mobility strategies.
RequirementsDoctorate in Physical Therapy | Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited Program
Current Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT)
Current Physical Therapy license for the state of New Mexico
Current CPR Certification
Previous experience in physical therapy & lymphedema rehabilitation
Previous experience conducting wheelchair evaluations or interested in learning and developing expertise in this area
Possess and enhances up‑to‑date knowledge of treatment practices
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with patients
