A Senior HR Generalist role supporting the TANF Division with advanced HR operations, recruitment, employee relations, classification and compensation, policy interpretation, and workforce planning in line with State Personnel Board Rules, CBAs, and agency policies.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and execute high-volume recruitment campaigns and processes.
  • Facilitate new employee onboarding and benefits orientation.
  • Process complex personnel and payroll actions accurately and timely.
  • Conduct classification and compensation analyses to inform program decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable personnel laws, rules, and policies.
  • Provide consultative support to supervisors and managers on staffing, employee performance, disciplinary actions, and organizational structure.
  • Develop and refine HR processes to improve service delivery.
  • Mentor and train HR staff to build internal capability.
  • Review work products for accuracy, consistency, and quality.
  • Participate in agency initiatives and interdepartmental meetings.
  • Support the delivery of efficient and effective HR services across assigned divisions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in any field.
  • One year of experience in human resource operations, including recruitment, selection, payroll, compensation and benefits administration, labor relations, investigations, HR-related training experience, and/or occupational analysis.
  • Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience totaling five years may substitute for the required education and experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico, or must pass and obtain Defensive Driving Course Certification within six months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
