Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable IT Field Technician to provide on-site and remote support for hardware, software, and network systems. This role involves installing, configuring, and troubleshooting desktops, laptops, servers, routers, switches, and peripheral devices such as printers and scanners. The technician will assist with maintaining LAN and WAN environments, diagnosing connectivity issues, and ensuring optimal network performance. Responsibilities include delivering technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software problems, documenting service actions, and IT inventory.

The technician will also support IT security by applying updates, configuring firewalls, and ensuring antivirus protection. Additional duties include training users on basic IT procedures, managing equipment inventory, installing structured cabling, and conducting scheduled or emergency on-site visits. Strong collaboration with internal teams, clients, and vendors is essential for resolving complex technical issues and coordinating repairs or replacements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, maintain compliance with data protection standards, and manage their schedule effectively to meet service-level agreements and client expectations.

This role requires flexibility, a proactive approach to learning new technologies, and the ability to respond promptly to critical IT issues when needed.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software problems, and documenting service actions.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot LAN and WAN environments to ensure reliable network performance.
  • Assist with IT inventory management and asset tracking.
  • Provide remote support to end-users or remote locations via phone, email, or remote desktop tools.
  • Install structured cabling and perform on-site visits as needed (scheduled or emergency).
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and vendors to resolve issues and coordinate repairs or replacements.
  • Apply updates, configure firewalls, and ensure antivirus protection to support IT security.
  • Demonstrate proactive problem-solving, maintain compliance with data protection standards, and manage schedules to meet SLAs.
  • Respond promptly to critical IT issues and adapt to new technologies as required.
Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking (Windows, macOS; hardware components; common software applications).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical issues clearly to end-users.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot common hardware and software problems; strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills for interacting with end-users who may be frustrated.
  • Good time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a field setting.
  • Familiarity with basic networking concepts (IP addressing, DHCP, DNS) is beneficial.
  • Provide remote support via phone, email, or remote desktop tools to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Strong schedule management, appointment scheduling, route planning, cross-team coordination, and adherence to SLAs.
  • Must pass criminal background checks; additional checks may be required for access to sensitive information or secure facilities.
  • Travel to different locations is required; valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle are necessary.
