We are seeking a proactive, customer-focused Part-Time Onsite IT Technician to support daily technical operations and ensure smooth functioning of our computer systems. This entry-level role involves providing hands‑on technical assistance, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining equipment, and supporting users both in person and remotely.
Working closely with staff and our external IT provider, this technician will help maintain systems, document processes, manage tickets, and contribute to the implementation of new technology.
The Ideal Candidate- Has basic understanding of IT principles, problem‑solving mindset, and excellent communication skills
- Is proactive, innovative, organized, and demonstrates proficiency in time management
- Is committed to following a customer service approach
- Be able to work up to 20 hours a week Monday‑Friday between 8:00 am‑5:30 pm; flexibility in daily hours may be accommodated
- Install and configure computer systems, hardware, software and applications
- Assist to maintain, replace and repair technological equipment
- Arrange maintenance sessions with IT providers to discover and mend inefficiencies
- Keep records of repairs and fixes for quarterly and annual audits
- Assist in documentation including creating SOPs for management and provide relevant reports
- Offer timely technical support and teach users how to utilize equipment in a safe and accurate manner. This may be in person at multiple locations, over the phone or virtually
- Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving IT issues
- Will be setting up accounts for new users and assisting with password, login problems, and access to equipment
- Manage the ticketing system and escalation tickets to IT provider accordingly. Liaison between staff and IT provider to coordinate effective and timely customer support
- Will help in testing and evaluating new technology
- Work in collaboration with IT provider to maintain records of software licenses
- Other duties as assigned
- Education:
- High school diploma or Equivalent required
- Associate's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, computer-related industry certifications or related preferred
- Basic understanding of databases and SQL is a plus
- Experience:
- 1 year of customer service‑related experience required
- Basic knowledge of computer systems, networks, and IT principles
- Good problem‑solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively to aid problem‑solving
- Familiarity with common software and hardware
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and approved driving record under company requirements
