Cybersecurity Engineer / RMF Specialist
TS/SCI Required | National Security Programs
Our client is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer / RMF Specialist to support highly sensitive DoD information systems operating in TS/SCI environments. This role is responsible for ensuring the security, compliance, and operational integrity of mission-critical systems through implementation of Risk Management Framework (RMF) controls and continuous monitoring activities.
The position works closely with system owners, configuration managers, and cybersecurity leadership to maintain system authorization and ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement and manage RMF security controls supporting classified DoD systems
• Support system authorization, sustainment, and continuous monitoring activities
• Conduct vulnerability scans, risk assessments, and remediation planning
• Coordinate with Security Control Assessors (SCA) and Authorizing Official Designated Representatives (AODR)
• Manage system auditing, user account management, and network security monitoring
• Support government cybersecurity inspections and compliance reviews
• Collaborate with system administrators and configuration managers to ensure security integration across networks and systems
• Provide cybersecurity guidance and recommendations to leadership and program teams
Required Qualifications
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• May be required to complete a Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph
• 10+ years of Department of Defense cybersecurity experience
• 4+ years supporting SAP/SCI environments within the past five years
• Experience implementing Risk Management Framework (RMF) controls
• Strong knowledge of DoD cybersecurity compliance and system authorization processes
• Ability to communicate technical cybersecurity concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Education & Certifications
• Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, MIS, or related field
• Relevant experience may substitute for formal education
• DoD 8140 / DoD 8570 IASAE Level II certification required
