AWS Cloud Engineer

Description

We are looking for an AWS Cloud Engineer to help deliver secure and efficient cloud solutions for a financial services client in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented candidate who brings strong experience modernizing infrastructure and moving business-critical workloads from traditional data center environments into AWS. The role centers on building resilient cloud architectures, applying automation, and supporting compliance-focused delivery in a regulated setting.

Responsibilities:

- Drive the migration of enterprise applications and infrastructure from on-premises environments into AWS while minimizing disruption to business operations.

- Create and refine AWS architecture designs that emphasize scalability, security, performance, and operational reliability.

- Use AWS migration services and related tooling, including Migration Hub and Data Sync, to plan, coordinate, and execute workload transitions.

- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and Cloud Formation to improve consistency, speed, and governance.

- Implement cloud security controls and configuration standards that align with regulatory expectations and internal compliance requirements.

- Partner with technical teams and stakeholders to assess current environments, define migration approaches, and resolve cloud deployment challenges.

- Optimize AWS-based environments by monitoring resource usage, improving configurations, and supporting stable post-migration operations.

Requirements

The successful AWS Engineer will have:

- 5+ years of AWS experience

- Proven datacenter-to-cloud migration expertise

- Strong knowledge of EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS

- Experience with migration toolsets and frameworks

Preferred:

- Financial services industry experience

- AWS certifications

Background required prior to employment.
