Sandia National Laboratories is the nation's premier science and engineering lab for national security and technology innovation. We are looking for an Information Enterprise Systems Technologist who will partner with other IT service providers and team members to deliver appropriate IT solutions to meet the business needs of the High Security Operations (HSO) users on upper-level LANs. The role includes remote and local user technical assistance, hardware set up, software installs and troubleshooting, managing ticket queues, supporting field-deployed equipment, and coordinating video teleconferencing (VTC) systems.
Responsibilities- Develop, install, test, administer, and document commercial off-the-shelf software.
- Support a wide range of computer hardware, including servers, file storage subsystems, peripherals, and VTC equipment.
- Provide remote and local user assistance including hardware setup and software installations.
- Work in and manage ticket queues and handle small to full-scope projects.
- Support fielded equipment and deployed systems and perform system maintenance.
- Coordinate and conduct VTC meetings, including connecting and troubleshooting VTC equipment.
- Research, assemble, and visualize data sources used for process improvement of IT services.
- Create, maintain, and integrate report visualizations from various systems.
- Determine integrated hardware and software architecture solutions that meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security needs.
- Research and evaluate information or data regarding End User Support Services and recommend practical solutions.
- Translate business needs into technical solutions through reasoned application of information technology.
- Oversee ULL conference-room remodels from conception to completion.
$63,800 - $123,400. Salary will be determined by experience, qualifications, and geographic differential.
Qualifications We Require- Associate's degree plus minimum 3 years of experience in a computing end-user support environment, or high school diploma with 5 or more years of IT or relevant experience.
- Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools (e.g. "Service Now", "Ivanti Neurons").
- Experience with Cisco and Crestron control panels and ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, including applications and operating systems.
- Proven ability to define the vision for conference-room upgrades, develop project plans, coordinate with multiple vendors, and manage concurrent VTC projects to successful completion.
- Active DOE Q-level (or DoD Top Secret equivalent) and active SCI-level security clearance.
- Familiarity with computer hardware components and peripherals.
- Understanding basic networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
- Support and set-up of video conferences and video conference equipment.
- Ability to research, assemble, and evaluate information or data regarding industry practices or applicable regulatory changes and recommend sound, practical solutions to complex issues.
- Ability to respond promptly to high-pressure emergency ticketing incidents for VTC systems.
- Prior working experience with Sandia infrastructure.
- Active Security+ certification.
- Willingness to take and pass a polygraph, if necessary.
- Familiarity with telephony terminology.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and nurture vendor relationships.
- Demonstrated ability working with OGAs and bridging connections.
- Strong IT troubleshooting knowledge and expertise.
This position requires a DOE SCI security clearance to start, or an equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency. The role also requires DOE Q-level clearance. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain these clearances, which require U.S. citizenship; polygraph examination may be required. A background investigation will be conducted as part of the hiring process.
