Cloud Platform Engineer

Description

SAIC is seeking a VCF-9 Cloud Platform Engineer to support the Space system Commend o a program that directly assists the US Space force. The ideal candidate will have experience with design and implementation of cloud environments. The selected candidate will work with military, government, and contractor personnel to provide top-notch support with a focus on system/network security in support of national security;

provide break/fix and design supporting information technology in a fast-paced, high-energy environment; provide root cause analysis and be comfortable recommending permanent configuration changes when necessary. Support will encompass design, build, secure, and operate mission-critical infrastructure leveraging VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS.This position is based at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM.

• Participate in all security processes, including security patching and auditing, security remediation, and disaster recovery operations.

• Participate in day-to-day processand service optimization, issue discovery and remediation.
• Conduct project analysis, requirements gathering, analysis of alternatives, testing, and deployment.
• Author, collaborate on, and maintain project, systems, services, and process documentation.
• Runmonthlysystemreportsandprovidemetrics.
• Worksuccessfullywithcross-functionalteamsandstafftoinclude configurationmanagementandsupplychain.
• Support other activitiesasneededandasrequested.

• Bachelor’sdegreeininformationtechnologyorrelatedfieldand9or moreyearsofrelevantexperience.
  
  Willaccept4years’experience in lieu of degree.
• Active Top Secret or DoE Q clearance with SCI eligibility (must be eligible for
  
  SCIindoctrinationwithinfirst3monthsofstartdate) andbe able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI.
• Mustholdcurrent Security+certificationandobtainenvironment certification within 3 months of start.
• Minimum6yearsofprovenworkexperiencewith
  
  VMware.
• Experienceconfiguringand maintaining
  
  Vsphere/VMware solutions.
• Provenhardware/softwaretroubleshootingexperience.
