Job OverviewLeidos' Defense Direct Energy Division seeks Electro-Mechanical Technicians to join our manufacturing team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The role involves working closely with a team of engineers and customers to design, build, and deploy hardware that meets unique technical requirements. It requires strong diagnostic skills, critical-thinking, and the ability to work independently.
Primary Responsibilities- Interpret drawings and use critical thinking to build, fabricate, test, and deploy production hardware.
- Build electrical and/or mechanical systems for the Department of Defense.
- Operate, repair, and maintain high-power equipment such as power supplies, vacuum pumps, electric generators, and circulation pumps.
- Build and implement control boards and safety interlocks.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot hardware problems and implement solutions.
- Set up field experiments with sensors and instrumentation, collect data, and archive results.
- Track equipment and spare-Parts inventory and initiate purchase orders to maintain stock.
- High school diploma or equivalent/GED and at least 2 years of experience in a high-power microwave environment or related field.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Experience reading schematic drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience building and installing electrical and/or mechanical assemblies.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools, torque wrenches, and wire-crimping tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, work ethic, and a sense of responsibility.
- Effective communication skills and teamwork in a production environment.
- Residency in the Albuquerque area or willingness to relocate.
- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, if necessary.
- Experience with high-voltage (up to 100 kV) and high-current (up to 10 kA) power systems.
- Familiarity with Costpoint/Solumina/Agile/Windchill.
- Planning or scheduling experience.
- Active Secret security clearance.
Pay Range: $48,100.00 – $86,950.00 per year.
