Job Summary
The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) III is responsible for maintaining an operational security posture for an information system, working closely with the ISSM and ISO.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the ISSM in meeting their duties and responsibilities.
- Prepare, review, and update authorization packages.
- Ensure approved procedures for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying hardware and media.
- Notify the ISSM when changes affect the authorization determination of system(s).
- Conduct periodic reviews to ensure compliance with the security authorization package.
- Coordinate changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware with the ISSM and AO/DAO before implementation.
- Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features are restored and functioning.
- Maintain current and accessible IS security‑related documentation.
- Collect, review, and document audit records, including anomalies.
- Attend required technical and security training relevant to assignments.
- Execute the cyber security portion of the self‑inspection, coordinating and reviewing system assessment plans.
- Identify cyber security vulnerabilities and assist with countermeasures.
- Prepare reports on the status of security safeguards applied to computer systems.
- Perform ISSO duties for in‑house and external customers.
- Conduct continuous monitoring activities for authorization boundaries under your preview.
- Assist DoD, National Agency, and contractor organizations with assessment and authorization efforts.
- Lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- 5+ years of related experience.
- 2+ years of SAP experience (required).
- Prior performance in roles such as System Administrator, Network Administrator, or ISSO.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Security certifications: IAT Level II or IAM Level II within 6 months of hire (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security).
- U.S. citizenship.
- TS/SCI clearance required to start.
- Must be able to acquire TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
- 10‑25% travel required.
