Position: IT Technician I

SUMMARY

Azurite Professional Community is recruiting for an IT Technician I for our IT department in our Albuquerque, NM, office. Under the direct supervision of the IT Manager, IT Tech I is responsible for maintaining, testing, and repairing systems and networks. It is an entry level technician position that assumes limited or no formal prior training or experience. Utilizes basic technical knowledge to support IT initiatives and provide first‑tier technical support to the end user.

Diagnostic troubleshooting and documentation of resolutions. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for this position. Assignments typically include a mixture of field and office duties, working in teams and independently. New and varied assignments may be made frequently requiring flexibility in travel, self‑directed skills, and some social interactions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Learn, acquire, and develop basic technical skills.
  • Performs basic problem solving and assistance on various software applications and hardware systems for staff.
  • Performs routine technical assistance and maintenance duties.
  • Maintains and updates record keeping system; may document projects and maintain user instructions.
  • Assists with tracking inventory levels of equipment and materials; performs data entry and maintenance of records such as, but not limited to, project documents, user instructions, general reports and/or systems errors.
  • Performs routine systems support, maintenance, and testing for proper upkeep of systems; troubleshoots and resolves general system hardware, software, and network failures and conflicts.
  • Assists with the review, evaluation and recommendation of solutions relating to hardware and software acquisitions and/or network updates.
  • Assists with research and development initiatives and in the implementation of new technologies.
  • Assists with the implementation of technology projects with moderate scope and impact.
  • Assists with the installation, configuration and maintenance of computers, workstations and/or other related equipment and devices.
  • Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to technology, equipment, applicable laws, regulations, standards and/or systems.
  • Performs miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
  • Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance on systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
  • Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of focus.
  • Records maintenance skills.
  • Ability to provide direction to staff to resolve technological issues.
  • Ability to determine computer problems and to coordinate hardware, software, and/or network solutions.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve basic computer problems.
  • Ability to communicate technical guidance and instruction to users on the use of PC and/or mainframe applications and systems.
  • Complies with all applicable safety guidelines and standards.
  • Complete personal timesheets in a timely manner with accurate and complete accounting for all activities.
  • Clerical duties include scanning, filing, documentation, data entry.
  • Answer phone inquiries and provide information to clients as requested.
  • Treat co‑workers and clients with respect and courtesy including good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
SALARY

$20.00‑$26.00 (Hourly)

TRAVEL

Up to 25%

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer or information science or related field preferred.
  • 2 years of related experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass the drug test.
