Description
SAIC is seeking a systems administrator to support the Space Systems Command on a program that directly assists the US Space Force. The ideal candidate will have experience providing design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting functions for physical and virtual information systems and web-based applications. The selected candidate will interface with Active Duty, US Government, and contractor personnel to provide top-notch support with a focus on system/network security in support of national security;
provide break/fix and design supporting Information Technology in a fast paced, high-energy environment; provide root cause analysis and be comfortable recommending permanent configuration changes when necessary. Support will encompass a range of capabilities from server and workstation configuration and support, LAN setup and maintenance. This position is based at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
- Provide cross-team deployment and administrative support for services including systems integration.
- Create and extend system configuration and automation tools.
- Participation in all security processes, including security patching and auditing, security remediation, and disaster recovery operations.
- Identify, experiment with, and adapt technologies that can better serve the customer and its goals.
- Participation in day-to-day process and service optimization, issue discovery and remediation, along with membership in a rotating on-call schedule.
- Project analysis, requirements gathering, analysis of alternatives, testing, and deployment.
- Author, collaborate on, and maintain project, systems, services, and process documentation.
- Run monthly system reports and provide metrics.
- Work successfully with cross-functional teams and staff, to include configuration management and supply chain.
- Support various efforts as needed and/or requested.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field and five(5) or more years of relevant experience;
Master’s and three(3) or more years of relevant experience. Will accept 4 years’ experience in lieu of degree. - Active Top Secret or DoE Q clearance with SCI eligibility (must be eligible for SCI indoctrination within first 3 months of start date) and be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI.
- Minimum 3 years’ proven work experience as a systems administrator working with Linux (Red Hat-based distributions preferred) and Windows OS.
- Practical experience in Python and one other scripting language, such as Power Shell or Bash.
- Must be compliant with DoD 8570-M requirements (Security+ to start).
- Familiar with the RMF process.
- Experience with storage administration.
- Knowledge of Cisco and Palo Alto network devices.
- Experience with Linux and Windo
- Experience with virtualization products.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services.
