Position Summary
Ensures labs or classrooms are operational and provides supplementary instruction assistance to students and teachers in classrooms, workshops or open lab facilities.
Duties & Responsibilities- Oversees the operation of assigned computer laboratories to ensure a safe, orderly, neat, clean and secure working environment.
- May set up advanced or technical equipment for the classroom or computer laboratory settings.
- Receives and inventories; orders, receives, catalogs, and stores tools and equipment in accordance with established procedures.
- Helps in the participation and distribution of materials for instructors, which includes setting up demonstrations, preparing materials and equipment for lectures, and creating handouts.
- Assists students in the safe use of equipment and materials as required.
- Provides advanced support and resolves problems related to lab equipment.
- Assists instructors in laboratory exercise; conducts tours of lab; and coordinates fire and safety regulation compliance as needed.
- Hires, supervises, and schedules work‑study students.
- Provides computer and technical support in the installation, operation, and minor repair of computers, related software, hardware and other related equipment.
- Required to comply with safety regulations, procedures, protocols, OSHA standards, and wear personal protective gear if required.
- Must have reliable transportation to be able to travel between CNM campuses.
- Coordinates policies with Rio Rancho Public School Staff.
- Supports main campus and satellite campuses as needed.
- Must be able to pass background check with CNM and Rio Rancho Public School Systems.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED AND one (1) year of related experience.
- Proficient in computer programming in Python.
- Proficient in Linux OS and Bash.
- Proficient in networking protocols and implementations.
- Holds active CompTIA, CISCO or other IT industry–related certifications.
- Graduated from CNM Computer Information Systems (CIS) certificate or AAS program or similar program from another institution.
Compensation: $16.20/hour
