Target Salary Range*: $106,500 - $107,000
* This represents the potential salary range for this position depending on education level, years of experience and/or certifications in addition to other position specific requirements which may impact salary
Position OverviewThe Network / System Administrator II organizes, installs, and supports government computer systems, including local area networks, wide area networks, network segments, intranets, and other data communication systems. This role supports activities within Special Access Programs for Department of Defense agencies, including HQ Air Force, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and Military Compartments efforts, and provides day-to-day support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information, and Special Access Program activities.
Key Responsibilities Network and System Administration- Organize, install, and support government computer systems, including LANs, WANs, network segments, intranets, and other data communication systems.
- Execute day-to-day management and operations of systems and networks.
- Help architect, design, and analyze network models.
- Participate in decisions regarding future hardware or software purchases to upgrade the organization’s infrastructure.
- Provide technical support to computer users to help resolve user problems as needed.
- Manage COTS and GOTS products to collect, display, and remediate automated system security and system operations and performance functions and metrics.
- Follow Operations and Maintenance checklists to maintain services, including daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly checklists.
- Build Tactics, Techniques, and Processes and Standard Operating Procedures associated with service checklists.
- Operate monitoring tools and capabilities with the enterprise security information and event management system.
- Create and tailor complex event alarms, rules, and summary reports.
- Assist in analyzing technical risk, upon request, for emerging cybersecurity tools and processes.
- Work as part of a security incident response team as needed.
- Apply working technical competency in one or more supported platforms, including:
- Microsoft Windows Server

- MS Hyper-V, VMWare, ESx, or Xen hypervisors
- Enterprise networking, firewalls, intrusion detection, and intrusion prevention systems

- Bachelors and 3 years of relevant experience or Associates Degree and 5 years of relevant experience or 7 years of total relevant experience in lieu of degree.
