$68,495 - $87,298 Salary. Regular position, E09 grade.
Position SummaryThe Network Administrator administers the daily operations, design, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and documentation of Central New Mexico Community College’s digital network, including data, voice, and video communications across all campuses.
Responsibilities- Maintain LAN/WAN, including wireless, ensuring network connectivity across all CNM campuses.
- Troubleshoot network problems and coordinate with managed services, vendors, and CNM staff.
- Assist in developing and maintaining network documentation using applicable software applications.
- Participate in LAN/WAN implementations, upgrades, and conversion projects—planning, design, testing, implementation, and coordination with stakeholders and contractors.
- Engage in training opportunities to maintain qualifications on current technologies in use at CNM.
- Monitor network performance and security, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Implement and enforce network security measures, including access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users on network-related matters.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to plan and execute network projects and initiatives.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for reference and training.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network administration.
- Participate in on‑call rotation and incident response activities as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree and at least three (3) years of related experience, OR Associate’s Degree and at least five (5) years of related experience.
- Degrees in Computer Science or a related field are preferred.
