The System Technician serves as the single point of contact for collecting, controlling, disseminating, documenting, and resolving all user IT questions, issues and problems within the JWICS environment. Additionally, the position performs on-site Computer Systems Technician (CST) function to perform problem analysis and resolution, as well as periodic maintenance. Develops and updates, as directed by ISSM, procedures for the analysis and resolution of IT support requests, including developing standardized schema for characterizing the nature and types of problems being encountered, as well as remedial services being provided.
Shall be trained, qualified, and appropriately certified to operate in an Air Force office environment as required. Ensure all trouble calls are properly serviced so users can obtain remote assistance and also obtain an estimated completion time for the trouble call. Any issues or problems will be directed to the ISSM that can't be resolved.
Shows strong self-direction, interpersonal soft skills, written and verbal communication skills
Provide tier I and II support to ensure system and network availability to the customer
Serves as a unit ISSO/user account manager for 377
MSGSCTrack trouble tickets with Service Now ITSM solution
Perform and maintain system backups and disaster recovery procedures
Maintain internal network security server/client virus protection to ensure all users have current updates
Maintain and control access privileges to IT resources
Operate and maintain systems and servers for Kirtland customers
Coordinate/Create new network accounts
Configure and troubleshoot file & print services
Maintain and manage network and client storage devices such as hard drives, tapes, optical drives and media
Maintain on-site server hardware/software IAW NIST guidance or other program publications as appropriate and directed for networks
Provide informal user training for the applications described approve, as required and for knowledge transfer
Maintain documentation and other information resources as directed by the ISSM
Proficiency and familiarity working in secure environments, to include familiarity with Traditional Security, Cybersecurity, TEMPEST, and Intelligence Community specific operations
Perform SCAP analysis and complete STIG checklists for a variety of endpoints when required.
Ability to establish a solid working relationship with the customer, technical staff, managers, peers and teaming partners
Working knowledge of layer 2 and 3 network principles
Windows Operating System Certifications (MCSA, MCSE, etc.)
Knowledge of Power Shell and WMI
Knowledge of ACAS vulnerability reporting and vulnerability mitigation strategies
Experience configuring and implementing Windows Deployment Services in an enterprise environment
Experience working with Directory Resource Administration (DRA) software within a DoD environment.
Experience with Solar Winds monitoring software
Veritas Backup Exec software support and configuration
Working knowledge of Net App Storage systems
Knowledge of Cisco IOS commands to configure network equipment and troubleshoot issues
2+ Years working in a TS processing environment
Applicant must possess refined critical thinking skills, should be a self-starter, may direct the activities of other team members, diplomatic, multi-task capable, adaptive to a dynamic environment, dependable and reliable.
Top Secret / SCI clearance is required.
Minimum DoD 8570 IAT-II (Sec+ CE) certification required
