Black Ve is seeking an experienced Information System Security Officer (ISSO) – Cybersecurity & Technology Operations to serve as the technical security leader for our Albuquerque operations.
This position is responsible for establishing, operating, and continuously improving Black Ve's cybersecurity, information assurance, and secure technology operations supporting both Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and classified environments.
Working closely with the Facility Security Officer (FSO), Engineering, Facilities, HR, Program Management, and external technology partners, the ISSO will help build the security and technology foundation supporting Black Ve's continued growth.
This is not a traditional ISSO role. As one of the foundational members of Black Ve's Enterprise Security organization, the successful candidate will help build cybersecurity programs, support secure technology operations, prepare for CMMC and classified system accreditation, and contribute across multiple business functions. We are looking for a builder, someone who enjoys solving problems, creating scalable processes, and wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions Cybersecurity & Information Assurance- Serve as the site's Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for CUI and future classified information systems.
- Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity and information assurance programs supporting company, customer, and government requirements.
- Support Risk Management Framework (RMF), Assessment & Authorization (A&A), Authority to Operate (ATO), and continuous monitoring activities.
- Develop and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs), Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms), security documentation, and operating procedures.
- Implement and maintain security controls in accordance with NIST SP 800-171, RMF, applicable customer requirements, and company policies.
- Coordinate vulnerability management, DISA STIG implementation, security patching, and secure configuration management.
- Review audit logs, investigate security events, coordinate incident response activities, and support forensic investigations when required.
- Manage user accounts, privileged access, media protection, encryption, and system security configurations.
- Coordinate directly with customer ISSMs, government representatives, assessors, auditors, and cybersecurity partners.
As a growing organization, Black Ve expects technical leaders to contribute beyond traditional role boundaries.
- Serve as the onsite technical liaison with Black Ve's managed IT, cybersecurity, and telecommunications providers.
- Support deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of laptops, workstations, mobile devices, printers, audiovisual equipment, and other technology assets
