Are you a hands‑on leader with a passion for creating clean, safe, and welcoming environments? The University of New Mexico's Facility Services is seeking a dedicated Coordinator, Custodial Services to oversee custodial operations and ensure our campus facilities shine with excellence.
In this role, you'll coordinate the daily custodial functions of a designated University unit, providing leadership and guidance to custodial staff while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis position is assigned to the Health Sciences Center (HSC) and may involve working in medical laboratory, clinical, and academic environments. HSC assignments may require the use of medically approved personal protective equipment (PPE). Additionally, this position is subject to overtime and on‑call assignments, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support campus operations.

- A valid New Mexico driver's license will be required if a motor vehicle must be operated on the job.
- Must pass a pre‑employment criminal background check.
- Successful candidate must submit to post‑offer, pre‑employment physical examination and medical history check.
- Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
- Less than high school; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
- Knowledge of custodial methods, chemicals, and equipment, with an emphasis on green cleaning practices and sustainability.
- Familiarity with safety and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with work order system.
- Understanding of inventory control and vendor management for custodial supplies and services.
