Responsible for supporting the Events Director in the strategic development and implementation of all events for the New Mexico Bio Park Society (NMBPS). This position is an integral part of the development team and the achievement of the organization’s goals and objectives through fundraising events.

Areas of Responsibility (Including, but not limited to)- General Scope of Duties
- Assists with all aspects of events
- Coordinates and manages vendors and support groups for each event in conjunction with Event Director
- Oversees key portions of NMBPS’ signature events including Run for the Zoo, River of Lights, and Boo at the Zoo
- Collaborates on the solicitation of sponsor ships, implementing new event strategies and provides insight into budgets
- Helps achieve sponsorship goals
- Fully plans and manages the Girl Scouts’ Roar and Snore event
- Helps to execute concepts, themes, and formats for other events that engage supporters, increase brand awareness, and grow revenue
- Maintain efficient record keeping systems, including database
- Assist with maintaining department financials including payables and receivables
- Perform additional duties as needed
- Run for the Zoo
- Leads volunteer recruitment and manages program
- Creates and executes plans for group registration sales
- Organize and manage Packet Pick Up
- Lead for school program, including recruitment and coordination
- Boo at the Zoo
- Leads volunteer recruitment and management
- Leads the recruitment and vetting of entertainment
- Manages vendors
- Manages all event supplies
- River of Lights
- Acts as event evening Manager on Duty throughout the month-long event
- As Manager on Duty, supervise all staff, including but not limited to seasonal staff, security, admissions, train staff, APD, and more
- Hires and manages seasonal staff for event including but not limited to event set up, Santa’s workshop, and Park and Ride recruits and vets all entertainment
- Fully coordinates and manages Girl Scouts’ Roar and Snore
- Manages all aspects of event from MOU to event wrap up
- Negotiates staffing, pricing, sponsor ships, etc.
- Responsible for event set up, execution, and debrief
- Bachelor’s degree and or five-plus years of experience managing events or fundraising activities
- Prior supervisory experience and strong leadership skills
- Project management experience, including organization and attention to detail
- Flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings and occasional weekends in all weather conditions due to the nature of our events
- Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills: the ability to work effectively with donors, volunteers and staff; display superior judgment and diplomatic skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Collaborative, team-oriented attitude
- Display professional demeanor and attire
- Adaptable to changing priorities with the ability to quickly get back on track
- Self-motivated with the ability to perform tasks to completion while seeking guidance as needed
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid New Mexico driver’s license (May be required to use personal vehicle during employment)
- Able to lift at least 30 pounds
- Must be able to stand, lift and walk for extended periods of time
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint (MS Office 7 preferred)
- Tessitura, Asana, Hold My Ticket knowledge a plus
Salary Range: $50,000-$60,000
