Sun State Solar is a locally owned, high-growth residential and commercial solar company serving the Albuquerque–Santa Fe metro area. We’re known for quality installations, strong reviews, and disciplined operations.
We’re hiring a Head of Sales to build, lead, and scale a high-performing sales organization.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can recruit, coach, and manage salespeople — while working directly with the Founder/CEO to drive profitable, sustainable growth.

As Head of Sales, you will be responsible for driving revenue through people, process, and execution

- Recruit, onboard, and develop a high-performing residential and commercial sales team
- Set clear expectations for activity, pipeline, and performance
- Coach consultative, trust-based selling (not pressure tactics)
- Improve close rates, deal quality, and average contract value
- Enforce CRM usage, pipeline hygiene, and accurate forecasting
- Own sales cadence, meetings, reporting, and accountability
- Ensure deals are structured, priced, and installable
- Eliminate “hero selling,” shortcuts, and inconsistency
- Partner directly with the Founder/CEO on revenue targets
- Growth strategy
- Pricing and offers
- Work closely with the General Manager to:
- Ensure clean sales-to-operations handoffs
- Align sales volume with install capacity
- Enforce professionalism and process compliance
- Ensure expectations are set correctly during the sales process
- Reduce downstream friction caused by overselling
- Protect Sun State’s reputation and review profile
- Predictable, repeatable sales performance
- A coached, accountable sales team (not lone wolves)
- Clean pipelines and accurate forecasts
- Strong alignment between sales and operations
- A senior sales leader or manager who has built and led teams
- Comfortable recruiting, coaching, and holding reps accountable
- Data-driven, but people-first
- Calm, credible, and professional with homeowners and businesses
- Willing to be in the field when needed
- 5+ years in sales leadership
- Experience managing in-home, B2C, or consultative sales teams
- Strong CRM fluency
- Proven ability to grow revenue through teams
- Solar, home services, construction, or energy experience preferred
