Environmental Project Manager

WSP is seeking an accomplished Environmental Project Manager with experience managing both large and small environmental projects within the power and energy sector. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, growing team delivering impactful solutions in a rapidly evolving industry.

Houston, TX;
San Antonio, TX;
Fort Worth/Dallas, TX;
Corpus Christi, TX;
Baton Rouge, LA; or Albuquerque, NM.

Your Impact
  • Manage environmental permitting, applications, agency coordination, public meetings, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams across complex energy projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Direct site selection and route evaluation for transmission, distribution, and generation facilities.
  • Partner with local, state, and federal agencies; provide strategic guidance on state filing requirements. Expert witness testimony experience is a plus.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, agencies, landowners, and internal partners.
  • Lead proposal development, scope definition, budgets, schedules, and client relationship growth.
  • Champion innovation, operational efficiency, and best practices across project delivery.
Who You Are

Qualified to contribute to multidisciplinary teams that drive impactful environmental solutions within the Texas/Louisiana energy markets.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience managing environmental projects in the energy sector (transmission, generation, renewables, or pipelines).
  • Demonstrated expertise in permitting, siting and routing, impact assessments, and regulatory compliance in TX, LA, AR, OK, NM, or MS.
  • Experience preparing and managing Public Utility Commission/Public Service Commission applications, including expert testimony.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and contractors across the full project lifecycle.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including public meetings and community outreach.
  • Track record of successful proposal development, client growth, and project leadership.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
