Chemical Technician

RIE, located in Albuquerque, is looking for a Chemical Technician to support our plating and anodizing facility by performing chemical testing, maintaining production tanks, monitoring wastewater systems, and supporting environmental compliance and continuous improvement efforts. This is a hands‑on, shop‑floor role working closely with production and engineering.

Standard hours:

• Monday–Thursday: 6:30 am – 3:30 pm
• Friday: 6:30 am – 1:30 pm

Some schedule flexibility is required based on business needs.

• Perform routine wet chemistry testing (titrations, sampling)
• Make chemical and water additions to production tanks
• Document and track chemical testing and adjustments
• Monitor wastewater treatment system and assist with environmental compliance (DMRs, zinc testing, etc.)
• Support pollution prevention and waste minimization
• Assist with Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support EHS activities and problem‑solving efforts
• Other duties as assigned

• Familiarity with wet chemistry and basic chemistry concepts
• Understanding of wastewater treatment and hazardous waste handling
• Experience with Lean concepts and data‑driven improvements
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing/shop‑floor environment
• Proficient with Microsoft 365

• Degree or coursework in a scientific or technical field OR
• Equivalent hands‑on experience, preferably in a plating or manufacturing environment

• Ability to work on the shop floor and lift up to 50 lbs
• Exposure to chemicals and coatings

• Competitive Pay - This position is targeted to start between $20.00-$23.00 dependent on experience.
